Dr. Nilusha Fernando
A native of Southwest Florida, Dr. Fernando completed her undergraduate studies at Duke University in North Carolina where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in English. She subsequently attended medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She then completed an internship in internal medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.Her interest in neurological and musculoskeletal disease brought her back to Philadelphia where she pursued residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Temple University Hospital. Her passion for the field of pain medicine led her to continue her fellowship training in interventional spine procedures and pain medicine at Temple University Hospital, under the leadership of one of the experts in the field of interventional pain medicine.
Dr. Fernando is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as fellowship trained in Pain Medicine. Dr. Fernando is currently licensed to practice medicine in Florida, Delaware and Pennsylvania and is an active member of several musculoskeletal and spinal intervention societies.
